Mechanical Field Service Engineer Chelmsford

Post Title: Field Service Engineer (Mechanical)

Salary: £30k - £33k plus company van, mobile phone & Laptop/Tablet

Location: Chelmsford & South East

 

 

Overall Purpose:

Main duties:

Repair of discharge equipment:

  • Undertake the repair of discharge Mechanical & Electrical systems in the field. (Hydraulic & Pneumatic Experience required)
  • Retain up to date technical drawings on both systems on your van.

 

Service and calibration

  • Perform service and calibration processes on all vehicles with service contract within designated area. This is to be completed within summer months.
  • Produce calibration certificates to the customer within 48 hours.
  • Calibration certificates produced will show excellent attention to detail.
  • Use Smart Sheet to log all calibration documentation.

 

Customer service

  • Give class leading customer support via phone and face to face to both customers and original equipment manufacturers
  • As a result of class leading customer support this will aid us to achieve our KPI of a targeted response to breakdowns within 24hours.
  • Communicate effectively with other service engineers to meet KPI.

 

 

Management of yourself and van

  • Manage your own time and customers and in turn maximising your efficiency.
  • Manage van stock.
  • Keeping vehicle road worthy in line with checks on PDA.
  • Keeping yourself presentable wearing company uniform.

 

Protean

  • Keeping PDA jobs up to date at all times.
  • Produce a high standard of feedback on jobs which includes parts used, labour, travel time and miles travelled.

 

ISO9001

  • Fully understand the control and use of stamp.
  • Report all non conformances
  • Keep all calibration documents on van at all times e.g. meter certificate, test certificate, type approval per system, NMO Secretary of State certificate and  NMO 11A Certificate.
  • Up to date method statement and risk assessment to be retained on van.

 

Training

  • Full training to be provided.

 

Key performance measurements:

  • Customer service

 

Technical ability

  • Ability to think on your feet and make decisions that benefit the customer
  • Maintain an excellent presentation of yourself and van at all times
  • PDA performance

 

Equipment provided:

  • Company van, mobile telephone, laptop and tablet

Overall Purpose:

 

 

We are recruiting for experienced HV/LV Switchgear Assemblers/Wirers to work on our busy shop floor in Hyde – Cheshire.

 

The ideal candidate should have an enthusiastic and flexible approach to work, with the ability to work under their own initiative, and manage and prioritise their time effectively.

 

Must have experience in Switchgear control panel production as well as experience in wiring to switchgear electrical schematic diagrams.

 

In short the candidate will:

 

  • Have a motivated and enthusiastic approach to work.
  • Hold a valid UK driving licence
  • Be prepared to travel
  • Be fair and respectful to others
  • Have good organisation and communication skills

 

This is a full time position working Monday to Friday. Overtime will be available but not guaranteed. This is a workshop position but the requirement to work on site may apply from time to time.

Post Title: Store Person & Driver

Overall Purpose:

 

To undertake works in connection with the issuing of stores material and the maintenance of stock, to include purchase orders and receiving goods. To carry out delivery and collections of materials to customers and suppliers.

 

Main Duties

 

Stores:

  • Recording of goods inwards and outwards
  • Ensure checks to verify stock levels for re-ordering are accurate and appropriate.
  • To take delivery of goods delivered into stores
  • Ensure that goods are checked off in an accurate and timely manner for damages and quantity
  • Create and update computer system to enable accurate stock levels
  • Locate deliveries into stores after deliveries
  • Complete stock checks when required
  • Keep stores clean and tidy
  • Keep log of scrap metal & copper returns from engineers

 

Driving:

  • To make deliveries to and collections from within the UK when necessary to external customers and suppliers
  • To ensure the safe loading and unloading of material onto vehicles and assisting colleagues in this task where possible

 

Shop Floor:

  • Keep the shop floor tidy and access should be clear of materials at all times
  • Manage the waste on site ensuring that materials are correctly disposed of  in the appropriate bins to maximise recycling

 

Other Tasks:

  • To work later hours when circumstances dictate
  • To promote equal opportunities and diversity within the company
  • To participate in the continuous improvement of the business ensuring the compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Other such duties that may be required

 

Knowledge & Experience:

  • The candidate will have an enthusiastic and flexible approach to work with the ability to work under their own initiative, manage and prioritise their time effectively
  • Have experience of working in a similar role, involving work in stores and driving responsibilities
  • Have knowledge of good practice in relation to Health and Safety regulations and road traffic regulations.
  • Have good knowledge of the highway code

Overall Purpose:

We require a commercially focussed Assistant Engineering Manager with excellent leadership, managerial and communication skills required to lead and develop our customer driven regional office in Manchester which covers the North West. Candidates must possess a relevant Engineering and/or Electrical/Mechanical qualification.

Previous experience of leading a team and customer relationship management within a service sector environment is essential.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical knowledge of lifts and previous repair/ modernisation management experience.

Main responsibilities will be the management of repairs/modernisation from enquiry through to completion including:

  • Initial site surveys
  • Detailing and issuing quotations
  • Ordering of equipment and subcontractors
  • Planning and scheduling of labour
  • Quality and Health and Safety
  • Maximising and generating repair sales
  • Liaise with customers to ensure client satisfaction and manage customer expectations

The candidate must be fully IT literate with experience of quoting and processing repairs through a full cycle to completion. A full driving licence is also essential.

Develop, guide, direct, motivate and manage the performance of all direct reports in line with the Performance Management System to assist in the realization of their potential and to enhance their knowledge-based skills.

Provide a hands on leadership style, responsible for creating a customer focused culture that is based on delivering results, transparency and trust, whilst building organizational capability and empowerment.

Analyse the training requirements of employees within the area managed, and arrange for relevant training to take place.

Operational

Develop, implement and communicate improved processes, policies and procedures on a continuous basis, always seeking greater efficiencies and higher customer satisfaction.

Maximize communication and synergy between the business Leaders.

Organise and attend regular staff meetings, using them as a basis for the development of consistent standards in quality working and behaviour.

Authority

Authorised to take any decisions on maintenance activities performed on site if the same is in line with the company & site policies & Procedures.

To take any decisions on executing the Preventive maintenance, Corrective maintenance, Reactive maintenance to achieve the set targets and contractual KPI’s


In addition to the above, the post-holder will also be required to undertake additional duties as appropriate to the nature and level of the role.
