Role summary:

 

This is an opportunity for a professional, engaged and open minded individual to join a team of dedicated technicians offering a complete range of door services to our customers.

 

Responsibilities and challenges:

 

  • Carry out planned and preventative maintenance and other Service activities on our range of Products, including our own and competitors. This requires you to follow logical and systematic steps to diagnose any potential or existing faults. 
  • Recommend improvements to the customer and provide quotations on prospective work such as; replacement of wear and tear parts to avoid breakdowns between service visits; upgrade's to improve functionality and the benefits of a 24/7 service agreement with the Company. 
  • Able to do unplanned, proactive visits to known customers to check satisfaction and promote our capabilities and services. 
  • Close cooperation with the sales force so that potential sales leads outside of your scope can be captured and managed internally. 
  • To complete e-Learning and module training to enhance your knowledge of Company products. You also keep up to date with the Entrance Systems market and our Competitors. 
  • Responsible to maintain the Company vehicle, its stock and tools in good working order. 
  • Responsible for accurate time sheet reporting, detailing job numbers, travel time, label equipment and complete door assignments.

 

Background and personal qualities:

 

  • You are a Company representative so act in a courteous and professional manner at all times. 
  • Responsible, reliable, punctual and trustworthy 
  • Results orientated and you show initiative to problem solve and come up with new ways of working. 
  • Eager to learn and develop new skills both technical and sales related. 
  • Education in electrical, mechanical or hydraulic training is preferred however a full Company induction and training will be provided. 
  • Clean driving license, other operating licenses are also of benefit 
  • Able to work on your own, managing your time and workload accordingly. 
  • Develops good working relationships with other co-workers and customers.

 

Desirable Skills:

 

  • Electrical and mechanical qualification ideally within the industrial door and docking systems industry 
  • Good IT skills 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Ability to work efficiently within a team and individually 
  • Industry experience 

 

You will receive full training on our products as well as the mandatory qualification set by industry standards. A van with hand tools and power tools will be provided, as well as a mobile phone and tablet to carry out your duties.

Overall Purpose:

 

We are looking to recruit an experienced forklift Field Service Engineer to cover the North East. This is a full time permanent role within a progressive company. You will be working as a forklift Field Service Engineer to provide maintenance and repair of client's diesel, electric and LPG forklifts on their premises.

You will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of equipment / forklift trucks to a high standard whilst providing excellent customer service.

Task Include:

  • To effectively support customers with materials handling equipment, maintenance and repair activities in line with their expectations
  • Carry out effective preventative maintenance to minimise unplanned breakdowns.
  • Create reports identifying any problems and further work required
  • Communication with the customer to agree remedial actions where necessary.
  • Provide information where necessary to the depot to raise a quotation for remedial actions.
  • Manage work load and prioritise jobs according to customer demands.

Overall Purpose:

We require a commercially focussed Assistant Engineering Manager with excellent leadership, managerial and communication skills required to lead and develop our customer driven regional office in Romford which covers the North London & Essex. Candidates must possess a relevant Engineering and/or Electrical/Mechanical qualification.

Previous experience of leading a team and customer relationship management within a service sector environment is essential.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical knowledge of lifts and previous repair/ modernisation management experience.

Main responsibilities will be the management of repairs/modernisation from enquiry through to completion including:

  • Initial site surveys
  • Detailing and issuing quotations
  • Ordering of equipment and subcontractors
  • Planning and scheduling of labour
  • Quality and Health and Safety
  • Maximising and generating repair sales
  • Liaise with customers to ensure client satisfaction and manage customer expectations

The candidate must be fully IT literate with experience of quoting and processing repairs through a full cycle to completion. A full driving licence is also essential.

Develop, guide, direct, motivate and manage the performance of all direct reports in line with the Performance Management System to assist in the realization of their potential and to enhance their knowledge-based skills.

Provide a hands on leadership style, responsible for creating a customer focused culture that is based on delivering results, transparency and trust, whilst building organizational capability and empowerment.

Analyse the training requirements of employees within the area managed, and arrange for relevant training to take place.

Operational

Develop, implement and communicate improved processes, policies and procedures on a continuous basis, always seeking greater efficiencies and higher customer satisfaction.

Maximize communication and synergy between the business Leaders.

Organise and attend regular staff meetings, using them as a basis for the development of consistent standards in quality working and behaviour.

Authority

Authorised to take any decisions on maintenance activities performed on site if the same is in line with the company & site policies & Procedures.

To take any decisions on executing the Preventive maintenance, Corrective maintenance, Reactive maintenance to achieve the set targets and contractual KPI’s


In addition to the above, the post-holder will also be required to undertake additional duties as appropriate to the nature and level of the role.
