Please Note: This role will require the successful applicant to be away from home for 4 nights a week.

 

Person Specification

What will I be doing?

  • Visiting our commercial and domestic customer premises, collecting industrial waste, sewage and cleansing drainage assets.
  • Operating our tankers and curtain sided vehicles with skill and necessary safety awareness.
  • Forming part of our on-call rota, completing out of hours emergency work when required.
  • Lodging away from home for up to 4 nights a week
  • Working together with our transport depot to ensure excellent service is delivered to our long serving customers.
  • We are looking for somebody who is enthusiastic and committed to delivering the best possible service to our customers.
  • A HGV class 2 licence, possession of a digi-card, and current CPC qualification is preferred, however, opportunities for training and progression are available to suitable class 2 licence holders.
  • A current ADR and Water Jetting qualification would be advantageous although not essential as full training will be provided.

As a Lift Engineer you will be responsible for

  • Servicing & Maintenance of existing Passenger, Goods, Service and Platform Lifts.
  • You will have the skills and confidence to carryout repairs on breakdowns and callouts, as well as minor repairs and planned repairs as and when required
  • You will be required to attend callouts and breakdowns as part of your normal day to day duties, as well as being part of an “On Call – Out of Hours” response team
  • Solving issues across a portfolio of lifting equipment and carrying out industry LG1 examinations
  • You will be expected to self-manage and plan your route to meet the changes which occur daily, with callouts and breakdowns etc
  • Meeting agreed customer response times and building relationships with our clients.
  • You will be expected to report back any findings or advisory works which can be recommended back to the client following servicing or callouts
  • You will be expected to communicate closely with both our clients and the admin team
  • Problem solving and working on your own initiative

Job description

Due to increased workload and future planned investments we are currently recruiting a qualified Mobile Crane Operator that holds a valid CPCS card for mobile cranes and a LGV + C Licence, additional CPCS qualifications such as Slinger-Signaller / Lift Supervisor would be advantageous.

Our depot is based within Nottingham but our machines do travel around the country for our loyal customer base. The ideal candidate will be expected to work away from home on occasion

Core duties

  1. Responsible for the external and technical condition of the assigned machines and materials.
  2. Responsible for preparing the crane for operations, extending outriggers, assembling/dismantling ballast, reeving cables and connecting safety systems in strict compliance with manufacturer instructions and Company policy.
  3. Responsible for the correct use of crane operation, including driving it to and from site.
  4. Complying with and implementing all safety rules in accordance with Company, equipment and customer requirements.
  5. Following instructions of Supervisor, ensuring each lifting operation is planned and carried out in a safe manner.
  6. Presenting a professional and technically capable manner to customers.

Overall Purpose:

Employed as a Workshop Technician you will be part of a team that maintains a fleet of vehicles for a contract customer providing service and maintenance. This role is part of the Fleet Management Division reporting to the Workshop Manager.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • To undertake comprehensive preventative maintenance and repair standards.
  • MOT inspections and prep
  • Ensuring PMI's are carried out on time and paperwork is correct
  • Liaising with drivers to carry out defect rectification and fill out reports
  • Correct fault diagnosis to ensure replacement parts are fitted correctly and warranty claims are in line with warranty terms.
  • Ensure full and complete end of shift handover including vehicle on or off road status
