What will I be doing?

  • Collecting domestic sewage from households with a cesspit or septic tank.
  • Operating waste management equipment (pipes, inlet/outlet valves, pumps, H&S equipment etc) in a professional and legal manner.
  • Using on-site equipment as instructed with due regard to manual handling techniques for heavier objects.
  • Attending emergency call outs when required.
  • Completing all driver related paperwork accurately and submitted on time.
  • Ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe manner.
  • Daily duties will involve some heavy lifting including raising of manhole covers, setting up suction hoses etc.

 

Person Specification

What will I need?

Possession of HGV class 2 licence, digi-card, and current CPC qualification is essential for the role. ADR licence is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. Previous experience operating a HGV tanker would be advantageous

Please Note: A minimum of NVQ level 2 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering and Refrigeration experience is a must for this role. Hydraulics, Pneumatics and Diesel experiences would also be required.

 

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The purpose of this position is to ensure all Light Commercial refrigerated vehicles are repaired to an excellent standard using safe working practices and where possible at the first attendance.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Servicing and repair of vehicle powered (diesel engine) road transport refrigeration units
  • Optimise and maintain engineer van stock to maintain and enhance service delivery to MFS customers.
  • Ensure relevant safety checks are carried out on the company van on a daily basis.
  • Maintain product and customer requirements knowledge to meet ISO9002 standards at all times.
  • Undertaking company training and self-development through the Certi-Tech certification process.
  • To liaise with central control and/or the service centre with regard to job start and completion times, downtime and overtime authorisation; cost updates and customer purchase orders.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork and on-line (PDA) requirements enabling central control and invoicing to maintain a high standard of customer interface – keeping the customer informed.
  • Perform other duties and projects which correspond to the general character of the position.
  • Ensure adherence to company procedures in line with company policies, Health & safety procedures and ISO9002 standards.
  • Apprentices and or engineers in training (EIT) may be supervised where applicable.
  • Ensure customer service is a priority and conduct & corporate image (self, van, tools, spares) are first rate
  • Ensure you operate the company vehicle in a safe manner and carry out regularly driver checks
  • Become a trusted member of the team by working with minimal day to day supervision
  • Incorporate a flexible approach to working hours to meet customer needs/requirements
  • The ability to follow company health and safety guidelines whilst working on various sites.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Desirable - GCSE’s in Mathematics and English,
  • F-Gas 2079, electrical and mechanical certificates

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Essential – Mechanical and/or Refrigeration experience, ability to work with minimal day to day supervision, computer literate, excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Desirable – Experience of working in a mechanical environment, ability to read wiring diagrams

Due to continued success our Loading Systems division is growing and this new vacancy represents an ideal opportunity to join a winning and commercially focussed team.  The successful applicant will cover the North of the U.K and can be based at any one of our Northern based U.K offices. (Manchester/Leeds/Hull/Stockton on Tees)

 

The Loading Systems Deputy Project Operations Manager will predominantly manage and organize new& replacement installation works.  Reporting into the Head of Loading Systems, responsibilities include the following:

 

  • Job creation, planning, and full control of Loading Systems Product installations with an emphasis on cost control and maintaining margins.
  • The day to day management of direct labour and sub-contract installation teams.
  • Sales support, surveys and quote generation.
  • Effective customer communications ensuring high satisfaction levels before, during and after the installation.
  • Technical & after sales support.
  • Liaison and building relationships with our key Suppliers.
  • To be pro-active and energetic, seeking to get things done and at the same time deal with a variety of tasks.
  • Decision making, this can be at times in demanding circumstances/environment.
  • Relationship management and development / working as part of a team.
  • Achieving revenue and profit objectives, and targets.

 

Flexibility is the Key and other characteristics needed are strategic management capability, excellent communication skills, organisation, IT skills, Loading Systems experience and a full driving licence is essential.

 

This role is ideally suited to a candidate in the M62 corridor and mainly involves work north of Leicester, however also requires support of works anywhere in the UK where required, hence overnight stays will be required where necessary.

 

There would also be the potential to travel to our European suppliers for relevant training.

Full systems training will be provided, however the person will require excellent knowledge of all Loading Systems Products and installation procedures and will need to be “hands-on” where required.

 

This role attracts an excellent remuneration package including competitive salary, bonus, company car and pension.
